Details

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with foreign lands and their cultures. As a child, growing up in Montana, my journeys were played out between the covers of an unending stream of books. Stamp collecting further fueled my imagination for exotic destinations. Eventually, my curiosity got the better of me and I packed two suitcases and moved to Europe. It has been a rich and fantastic journey, thus far, and the end has yet to be written.

My explorations in glass attempt to convey a sense of transition and discovery, while focusing on cultural identities. The viewer is challenged to examine fixed perceptions that relate to the dynamics of identity and culture.

As with travel, some of my most fortunate glass discoveries have been made by accident, by straying off the beaten path. My body of work is a reflection of these choices.

I hope that you enjoy the journey.
